Shaping Up Street Scene

If you have any shots that involve a street scene #16 to #25, here's a file you can use if you need to, in which I've added another floor to a building and a bunch of characters.

If you're already working on it, then you might not need it.
Hope this helps

Here's the link to download file.

Project 3 - Walks - Expressive LipSync - Action Animation

Expressive Lip-sync
She says "Pheew, heavy..." after pushing the bookcase.

Andy Talks from Sandra Burgman on Vimeo.

Here's the Action Animation...I had it just right and then, deleted all history and Andy's mesh separated from the rig on most of the frames. You can still see the skeleton moving, so I posted this anyway until I figure out if there is a way to transfer the animation keys from one character to the other, so I don't have to redo it all...

Project 2: Character Design and Creation (Part 1)

BaileyCharacter3 from Sandra Burgman on Vimeo.

PDF File

This is a character named Bailey. She is fun loving, loves to be with her friends and dance. I started developing this character in 220 and wanted to update some features and textures. I can't wait to animate it.

Here's the slide show with the character development phases and 3D modeling screen shots.

Shaping Up - Revised Script

Some revisions in the story line...Main changes are:
• Flashback to Junior's childhood, we meet his older brother. Sets precedent that Junior expects to be tall like his brother.
• Obstacle: Junior at the grocery store, trying to reach something on the shelf
• Obstacle: Junior gets on the stretcher machine at the Gym...but it doesn't work
• Obstacle change: Junior after 2 months of working out sees if he's grown by standing next to a growth chart at the gym.
• A few minor details scattered throughout...

Leon's Rig - Lessons 15-16-17

Here are the files

Maquette...

This is the armature for my maquette. Clay will cover the aluminum foil and wire, to form a detailed and sculpted model of my character...not a baked potato...

Update: I decided to develop another character named Bailey for our 2nd project (I will also model Junior from "Shaping Up"), so I had to revise this maquette to fit the new model.

Shaping Up Animatic

Here's the animatic for my story. I used iMovie to edit the storyboard pictures, add sound effects and music. Hope you enjoy it...

Animatic-Shaping Up2-SBurgman from Sandra Burgman on Vimeo.

Color Keys

These are 2 of the most important scenes in the story.

My character realizes how tiny he is and thinks he might never realize his dream of growing up big...like a skyscraper.

The 2nd color key, shows the new beautiful skyscraper glowing in the night cityscape...kind of gives away the ending...

Story Development "Shaping Up"

I developed a story about teamwork, cooperation and the power in numbers. My tiny character achieved what seemed impossible. He realizes his dreams with the help of his friends.
This is a universal story, because it could be applied to any setting and different types of characters.
The link contains the premise and treatment of the story.

Maya 3D - Ball drop animation

I'm happy with the results. I was able to give the ball some "squash and stretch" in Illustrator, but found it a bit more difficult to do in Maya. I think it would make the bounce more believable.

ART320-SBurgman-ballDrop from Sandra Burgman on Vimeo.

Traditional Ball Drop

I used Adobe Illustrator to create a traditional animation. Then exported as a SWF, and converted to a movie from there. It was fun to do, and gave me a good idea how to animate it in Maya.
